Chi sono

Originally born in Italy, I inherited music from my grandfather, who, apart from being a composer, organist and choir master, served as assistant to Arturo Toscanini for several years. After completing a diploma in Nautical studies, I moved to Germany, where I studied church organ, and then to London, before settling in Dublin in 1993.

While in Ireland Paolo has been working in Information Technology and has been IT Manager in an advertising company since 2000. At the same time, he has been lecturing with the Open University in their faculties of Technology and Arts, teaching courses ranging from computer science to the Renaissance and the life of Leonardo da Vinci. With the Open University he has obtained a BA in Linguistics, Philosophy, and Musicology. In 2001 Paolo became involved with Young European Strings School of Music, where his daughter started studying the violin at the age of three and a half. For the last 12 years he has been on the School’s executive committee, dealing with organisational issues, supporting the orchestras and preparing them for tours abroad, as well as working closely with the Director and Artistic Director of the School to foster and promote the talents of its young musicians.
